Surely, India should be able to spawn many startups that combine the ability to take on both challenges. Traditional information technology companies should be able to set up divisions for bio-informatics that work with traditional vaccine/pharma companies.

Global growth will slow down, estimates OECD. India will be hurt, but less than others. Falling oil prices are a blessing for India. India grows primarily on the strength of the domestic market. Covid-19 demands new lines of production, from testing kits and protective gear to medicines, vaccines and data analytics for meeting assorted epidemic scenarios. These have great export potential, too.
