Mr TK Arun,

My understanding with a holy dip of eternal, very democratic secular expression and experiences….

Purely and utterly loving, most sensitive and well, a broader perspective highlighting historical, economic, political and social causes. You have cited brilliant examples exploring the beauty and wealth of two sides of the same coin or two different coins i.e.; analytical models representing days of Norman Tebbit to Rishi Sunak, Catalan and Spanish coexistence in Catalonia for mutual benefits as a key political and economic European region, irrefutable and ubiquitous presence of people who revere Mahatma Gandhi and those who don't, relatively recent developments about survival of contrary opinions of those who respect and hate Indira Gandhi, misuse of AFSPA in Kashmir allowing people to register their protest for inhuman atrocities through the cricket match between India and Pakistan, acquittal of people by the Supreme Court of India charged for sedition raising slogans in favour of Khalistan, manner in which the SC of India upheld the right to free speech in post-independent India etc. portrays factualisation of democratic and undemocratic discourse, reflection and transformation of actuality into a fact of human consciousness in today's intolerant and yet so tolerant Indians and India.

For X percentage of people in our society, who conversed freely over a period of time (2014-2021), the same debate and discourse matured into a calm and peaceful conviction. Looks like amalgamation of thoughts and views for a seeker's quest for knowledge in view of a maturing democratic society.

Yes, now, it is at this point, the widening schism between the two groups seems to be indifferent but the concluding statement if accepted by the public at-large can become a powerful democratic ingredient of the confident inclusive future that binds both forces together.

It would be endearing to aspire for a singular democratic, conscious voice in the days ahead. Thoroughly enjoyed reading and rereading the opinion. Thank you.

Your ardent admirer and loyal reader,

Vandana
