Teesta Setalvad Detention: Perils of Choosing Vindictiveness
Setalvad legitimises Indian democracy, making its institutions work for victims of communal riots; picking on her gladdens the hearts of Jihadis
Why pick vindictiveness over validation?
This is not behind a paywall
I am not connected with any political dispensation which please note and don't behave like know all which is dangerous see what Rais Khan Pathan chief aide of Teesta has to say about funding by Cong and foreign entities and false affidavits submitted by the court and what the Chief information commissioner Mr Mehrurkar has to say on this watch yesterday's debate on Republic to get enlightened. All are What's APP university graduates and you are the only enlightened soul .Your language shows your upbringing though not your fault at all . Dear Political-Economist Extraordinaire,
My understanding of your opinion with additions below,
Yes, the widening schism and loss of the nation is incalculable - the cutline explains. Emphatically, the dangerous trains of thoughts and actions and Modi being factually illiterate unwilling to come out of his own 'Modi allowed Gujarat 2002 anti-Muslim riots' image will reregister him as one of independent India's greatest infamies.
This becomes the central question amidst political, social and economic turmoil we/the nation cannot afford. Aim/Action of vindication of Modi by 'The Supreme Court of India' may sound the death knell for him. A good chance for democracies to monster him in India and internationally.
In the above mentioned context, I would say, "We citizens will remember the most important oral observations, written remarks made by an earlier bench of The Supreme Court of India, and unscrupulous acts of 'The Supreme Court of India' bench now. #important #facts #reality
I repeat the words of Justice Saheb/bench, "If one cursorily, glances through the records of the case, one gets a feeling that the justice delivery system was being taken for a ride and literally allowed to be abused, misused and mutilated by subterfuge." - SC Judgement in 2004.
The time when 'The Supreme Court of India' lambasted the Gujarat/Modi government modern-day Neros looking elsewhere when innocent children & helpless women were burning, & issued an unprecedented order quashing the acquittal of all 21 accused in the infamous Best Bakery case and directed its retrial in a Maharashtra court.
The bench in 'The Supreme Court of India' had also criticised the Gujarat High Court for making irresponsible remarks against activists, including Teesta Setalvad, and even against the National Human Rights Commission. With these remarks, other very serious remarks were made by the Justices against the High Court of Gujarat about their failures as a competent court. Modi's responses to Mr Karan Thapar in an old interview is a testimony of his involvement in Gujarat riots and results. #cowardice #shamelessresponses #lies
This & your older bold & realistic political opinions remind me, The long and elegant intellectual tradition of democratic politics has been at stake since Modi's leadership in Gujarat and in the centre. After 2014, Modi's regime has supplied enough fodder to jihadis for their smooth sail inching towards the 'global jihad movement'. Prior to 2014, the jihadis failed to create content for their agenda with "Setalvad's representation of riot victims and getting them the justice they deserved", explained in this opinion, clearly with other examples.
With this ill-timed, mistep of police action arresting Teesta Setalvad and retired Director General of Police, RB Sreekumar of the Gujarat cadre reflects on Modi's thinking of not letting his tarnished image fade away from we citizens' minds and the international community for his proactive role in 2002 Gujarat riots. Honest IPS Officer, Mr Sanjiv Bhatt's wife, Ms Shweta Bhatt's interview conducted by digital news platforms and other news organisations is another testimony about blatant misuse of power and law to deny justice to those who were witnesses in the Gujarat riots case?
Also, the fundamental requirements of a democratic politic to help democracy evaluate the analytical process and advance to sustain itself in all democratic forums nationally and internationally has been losing ground and with recent arrests, India will definitely lose as an ally at a global level with the USA and other democracies. Defined well in the 'Global censure' sub-head with examples.
Thank you for this brutally honest, factually correct and realistic as always, opinion. #mustreadforall #awakeyoungindiaopinion #India
