As on 1st February, 2022, #SwaminathanAiyar 's comment about the Union Budget 2022-2023 is a good example of 'ARTFUL PALTERING' worse than his own remark about an #InterimBudget without tax changes as #HaroldRobbins novel without sex in #1996 placed in the #EconomicTimes - Self-explanatory!!
As a senior journalist, Mr #SwaminathananAiyar 's comments on the Union Budget 2022-23 & articles on politics & economy, signify his own downfall, an impasse & no reputation. I saw his very first comment on #EconomicTimes @YouTube page on 1st February, in the evening & remarked without blinking my eye.
Btw, if Mr #SwaminathanAiyar wants to contest elections in future on a #BJP ticket, he will lose like the Metro Man, Mr E. Sreedharan.
Mr #SwaminathanAiyar forgot that his own negotiation tactic to retain his lost reputation offering self-serving interpretations of the Budget 2022-2023 is not unprompted - Visibly clear through his articles in the last few years. Good that I wrote my comment when a senior journalist shared his article on @Facebook
As a responsible reader, I would say, Mr #SwaminathanAiyar can neither meet seemingly burdensome requirements of pleasing the 'powers that be' or may be Mr Vineet Jain, MD, Times Group nor can he satisfy his own self-interest of trying to uplift his lost reputation. Here, I would praise Mr Vineet Jain, Managing Director of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd.for your outright honesty giving statements about your esteemed firm as an advtg. company in an interview published in a reputed publication sometime back. Shared by a Senior Journalist sometime back.
Infact, Mr #SwaminathanAiyar can learn a few life lessons from Mr Vineet Jain. #ThisIsHonesty #GreatExample
For a simple & clear reason, any journalist earns his/her respect not with outright dishonesty, lying, misleading people with passive omission of most relevant information, active use of presenting false statements or turnaround views to fool people, taking unfair advantage of privileged information & knowledge gained through established practice of journalism with abuse of position & power etc but only by presenting authentic, factually correct news, reliable & credible views where public interest take precedence over self-interest in a democratic India. Putting into practice the moral compass throughout lifetime by not bending rules of ethical & honest journalism practices.
Else it works the same like cheat scholars misrepresenting findings in abstracts of their projects(research) or the so called Journalist-Authors offering self-serving interpretations in their books - Commercial reasons.
As stated by you, I concur with your view points, "Budget 2022-23 gambles that investment-led growth would alleviate the economic distress wrought by the pandemic and an economy that was slowing desperately even before that, and, to that end, pursues growth rather than relief and doles with its debt-fuelled expenditure" - Another #Jumla surely!!
As concluded by you, I would say that the Govt. of India cannot control these 'virus strings' like the host cell works smartly & confidently in human bodies - SARS-CoV-2 RNA –protein interactome in infected human cells to restrict virus infections further. Had it been so, it would have been reflected in the Union Budget 2022-23.
So, definitely, this Budget seems to be a professed commitment to the people of India - Just a coincidence that you quoted Mr #SwaminathanAiyar 's example. I am happy that it lends credence to my understanding of your Opinion.
Thank you for writing this opinion as expected from you, Mr Opinion Editor Extraordinaire.
Note; As I said earlier, I repeat, there will be many journalists like Mr #SwaminathanAiyar who will become sold out souls by 2024. Many have already joined this exclusive self-serving interests club.
