The demand for a Muslim prayer space in a Christian institution is surely with the intention of polarisation. If Muslim radicals are behind it, it is even more ridiculous. There is also a possibility that this situation has been created by some non muslim elements who hope to benefit from such polarisation. In any case, almost all muslim organisations of Kerala have already disowned this demand and it is practically settled by now. But SM will see continued activity on this issue, from muslim or non muslim elements who hope to benefit from religious polarisation. The consolation is that such attempts at polarisation usually does not work in Kerala!

This demand for a separate prayer space needs to be opposed anyways to maintain order...... not just because another political party may seek to derive advantage from it, as you have suggested.
